I was born in VA Beach, VA & moved to Atl, GA when I was 16 to attend The Atlanta International School & pursue my passion for languages. I studied French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, & Japanese. I love all languages but I had the most fun with Japanese, yea Kanjii kicked my butt.
In Virginia, I spent time with my Grandma Ramos making all types of Asian cuisine, including her native Filipino food.
At home my parents made a wide range of cuisines. My Dad is from Libya so he'd make North African, Mediterranean fare. My Mom is from Nashville, TN she'd make Southern, Soul food.
My parents had a catering company and would make the most beautiful wedding cakes. I always loved to help make those incredible confections.
My personal experience includes working in restaurants, taking classes with world-renowned Chefs and attending the Ritz Escoffier Culinary School in Paris.
All of these experiences helped make me who I am, a Chowista, a person that celebrates all aspects of life from food to culture.
Stay tuned for more adventures.
